Sometimes, you can learn very enlightening things in class.
As an occupational therapist, we're part of a professional order and have reserved activities under our professional code. These are acts that only we as OTs with licenses can perform, exclusive of all other professions. I learned today that one of these acts is included in the Fishing and Wildlife laws. This reserved act is the functional assessment of individuals with disabilities who hunt using a crossbow. I'm also entitled to assess the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities hunting from a vehicle.
Like no one else is qualified enough to determine if some dude is safe using a crossbow. I feel so special. Who uses a crossbow nowadays anyway?
I love my profession.

I shot a crossbow once. I was... 13 maybe? It was a medieval craft fair (the "Robin Hood" craft fair, if I remember) in England. The recoil of the crossbow nearly took out my shoulder, but I got a bullseye. :P

So if I understand this correctly, if I, as a Quebecer, wish to hunt using crossbow, or hunt from a vehicle, or hunt using a crossbow while driving a vehicle, only a professional occupational therapist is able to assess my functional capabilities? This is hilarious.

Hey what about fishing with a crossbow while operating a vehicle? A new extreme sport?

You're not allowed to go to any professional but me. I have exclusive rights to assessing your shooting a crossbow!
Have you tried fishing with a crossbow, without operating a moving vehicle?? Isn't it like...next to impossible?? =)

There are some big fish out there. Like tuna! Have you seen those guys?

I actually know an uncle from my church (KWCAC) who uses a crossbow for hunting. It's probably much more satisfying to catch something with a crossbow (if you can)... much more skill involved.
